If you plan on using Engenia, FeXapan, or XtendiMax products in Xtend soybeans this year, online training is still available.

In 2018, Engenia, FeXapan, and XtendiMax products were classified as Restricted Use Products. Only pesticide applicators that have completed dicamba training and earned a certificate will be allowed to purchase and apply these Xtend-specific dicamba products. Time is running out to get training, but online training is still available on the BASF dicamba training website. You will need sound capabilities on your computer to listen to the training. For step by step directions, see below.

1.Go to the BASF dicamba training website.
2.Click on “Start Training”.

3.After listening to the disclaimer, the “Next” button will appear in the bottom right corner. Click “Next”.

4.Enter your information and click “Submit”.

5.You will get a confirmation on the screen that that your registration was successful. Click “Next”. The training module will automatically start and takes about an hour.

6.You can click “Back” or “Next” throughout the training. The “Next” button will appear in the bottom right corner at the end of the voice recording for the slide.
7.At the end of the presentation, there is a 14 question quiz. After successfully passing the quiz, you will receive your certificate as a PDF which can be saved to your computer and printed.

In addition to the dicamba training certificate, there are other new requirements for the use of these products that are explained in the training. Some of the other requirements include prescribed nozzle types, boom heights, and wind speeds. There are also buffer requirements to protect susceptible crops and extra recordkeeping for dicamba products. The most current information on the guidelines and labels for Engenia, FeXapan, and XtendiMax can be found online by BASF, DowDuPont, and Monsanto.
