Corn and soybean planting tips

Still time to weigh possible changes to experiment with seeding rates, starter fertilizers and more to boost bushels.

With snow finally melting in parts of the Midwest as we reach the end of April, farmers continue to weigh planting options, and perhaps tweaking input variables to test.

As #Plant18 begins, or continues for those finally in the field, we decided to compile some past stories that offer tips or food for thought as you ponder from the shop or the tractor cab.

If you’re still waiting for fields to dry out or you’re having some issues with your planter, check out this planter prep refresher video that Beck’s Hybrids produced in 2013:

This gallery of stories offers tips and farmer experience with topics like seeding rates and depth, in-furrow starters, double starter bands, wet soil issues, high-yield corn tips, nitrogen stabilizers, continuous soybean advice, seed size differences and more, gleaned from the past seven years.
