FarmLogs app update: Field-specific rainfall data, crop history

We caught up with FarmLogs co-founder and CEO Jesse Vollmar at Commodity Classic in San Antonio to talk about the FarmLogs app and web offerings, as well as a new app update. The new update offers a popular web feature, allowing farmers to access field-specific rainfall and crop history data right from their phones. With the app update, users can add fields directly on their mobile device by clicking on preloaded field shapes.

The web version of FarmLogs has also been updated to offer a budgeting tool. The new planning and budgeting features, available now at farmlogs.com, automatically populate predicted crops, inputs and budgets for each field based on crop history. Farmers have the ability to add or modify crops and inputs field-by-field including seed variety, fertilizers and chemicals.

"We're going to bring in lots of information that will help make decisions on the farm," says Vollmar. "It saves users a lot of time."
