Case IH introduces its next generation models of the MX Series Magnum and STX Steiger Tractors.
The MX Magnum tractors include the MX035 with a 9.0-liter, Tier 3 engine with 255 PTO hp, up to 50% torque rise and 37 hp growth. The MX215 has 17 PTO hp, the MX 245 offers 200 PTO hp and the MX275 has 225 PTO hp. The MX215, MX245 and MX275 are powered by an 8.3-liter, 505 cu. in., Tier 3 compliant engine. The Tier 3 compliant engines are electronically controlled with a high-pressure, common rail fuel injection system that's quieter, cleaner and more powerful. The new engines also feature a cross-flow head design system that intakes air from one side and vents exhaust directly out the other side.
These models offer three full powershift transmission options — a standard 18F/4R speed transmission, a new, optional 19F/4R option with a special 19th gear designed to conserve fuel during transport and a 23F/R transmission with shift-through creeper speeds. All tractors come standard with AutoShift, which features road and field modes.
AFS AccuGuide-equipped MX215, MX245, MX275 and MX305 tractors feature a new armrest-mounted AFS200 color monitor designed to interface and control all ISO11783 compatible implements. AFS Auto Depth Control allows operators to set the depth of trailing implements. In addition, Electronic End-of-Row is standard with performance instrumentation and enables control of all end-of-row functions with the flip of a switch.
Case IH has added more performance across both the wheeled and Quadtrac versions of its Steiger tractors.
New Tier 3-complaint, 24-valve, electronic engines provide power for all six models, topping out with the STX530 rated at 530 hp in wheeled, Quadtrac and scraper configurations. A 15-liter, Cummins QSX15 engine offers 40% torque rise, growing an additional 54 hp at 1,800 rpm. The wheeled STX280 and STX330, which feature AccuSteer versions, use new 8.3-liter and 9.0-liter engines respectively.
Both the STX380 and the STX430 share a new 12.9-liter Case IH engine with 40% torque rise and are available in wheeled, heavy-duty wheeled, scraper and Quadtrac configurations. The STX480 offers the same configurations as the STX380 and STX430 and is powered by the same engine as the STX530.
To improve ride, reduce operator fatigue and extend the life of the transmission, the Case IH 16F/2R full powershift transmission has been upgraded with electronic pulse width modulated shift solenoids. Producers also have a choice of two transmission options — a 24F/6R synchro transmission with 12 speeds in the working range or a full powershift 16F/2R version for more automated use.
To further automate the trip through the field, producers can now choose a factory-ready AFS AccuGuide autoguidance system paired with a new, armrest-mounted AFS200 color monitor.
Valmont Irrigation introduces the cams Tracker SP, which allows growers to remotely monitor and control many pivot operations and activity, including field position.
The cams Tracker SP works jointly with the cams Select or Pro panel via the cams Tracker Communications Center. Once the communications link is established, growers may control many pivot operations, including: pivot direction, starting and stopping, running with or without water and managing auxiliary controls. As with the cams Tracker, the Tracker SP notifies the farmer with an alarm message either with a phone call, cell phone text message or e-mail if a problem occurs, not only increasing efficiency, but ultimately reducing pumping costs as well.
Delavan Ag Pumps, Inc. introduces Turbo-90 Series PTO-driven turbine pumps.
These pumps provide flow up to 90 GPM at pressures up to 100 PSIG, and operate directly from a 1,000-rpm PTO shaft. They are ideal for transferring high-volume liquids and high-volume spraying, and can pump fluids with suspended materials without issue.
Turbo-90 pumps offer peak flow performance at slow rotation speeds for maximum seal life. A corrosion-resistant nylon impeller reduces rotational weight for increased pump life and smooth operation, and pressure-relief passages keep suspended materials circulating to help avoid accumulation in the inner cavities.
Additional features include choice of standard duty lip seal or severe service face seal for abrasive applications; bearings isolated by drain cavities; 1.5 in. inlet and outlet ports for high volume flow.
