Gavilon Grain markets Duracade corn

Gavilon Grain LLC has partnered with Syngenta to market the new rootworm-resistant Duracade corn. While growers of the new corn are free to find their own markets, if they can't, Gavilon will step in to find a buyer and set up a grain contract, offering growers a local market price for the corn.

CSD Managing Editor Susan Winsor spoke with Greg Konsor, general manager, Gavilon Grain, at Commodity Classic about the partnership between Gavilon and Syngenta, and how they will help growers of Duracade corn find a market for their grain.

Gavilon Grain has about 130 elevators and 300 million bushels of storage capacity, and is second behind ADM.

"We're here to make sure the grower gets a comparable market price to sell Duracade corn," says Konsor.
