NEW 200+-HP TRACTORS
Versatile announces two new tractors: the Versatile 250 and 280, both powered by a Cummins QSC 8.3L engine. The 280 has 225 PTO hp, and the 250 has 200 PTO hp.
The high-pressure common-rail injection engine features more displacement and modern technology than the previous offering, and has smooth power delivery, faster engine response and less vibration.
Upshift and downshift of the 18-speed transmission is easy with a bump-shift lever. The models are also available with an Ultrasteer front axle for a sharper turning radius and left-hand shuttle shift.
The 280 and 250 also come with dual access doors, air-ride seat and tilt and telescoping steering. New warranty coverage includes a two-year, 2,000-hour warranty and a new three-year, 3,000-hour powertrain warranty.
Available for the 2009 harvest season will be the Vermeer CCX770 cob harvester. The wagon-style implement is designed to tow immediately behind select corn harvesting combines to collect and unload cobs.
The CCX770 is easy to attach to the combine, is self-contained and is cost-effective, says Vermeer.
Test harvesting was conducted throughout 2008 and a product launch is planned for the 2009 harvest season.
