John Deere Unveils New Lineup
NEW 60 SERIES COMBINES
A new lineup of eight high-capacity 60 Series harvesters includes STS, Walker and CTS combines. Two new models have been added to the STS lineup: a 9560 STS, 265-hp combine — a mid-sized, Class V machine with an STS configuration; and a 9860, 375-hp Class VIII combine.
A new fore/aft tilt-frame feederhouse, which allows for a 17°-tilt angle, is standard on all machines, except the sidehill. Also, a single-point header hookup has been added that John Deere says reduces hookup time by 75%. The new 60 Series are powered by 6.8-, 8.1- or 12.5-liter John Deere PowerTech engines.
A wider right-hand radius profile on the concave improves material handling and threshing performance on all STS combines.
The 9760 STS and 9860 STS both offer a high-capacity unloading system of 3.3 bu./sec. The unloading auger is 22.5 ft. long to reduce stress in unloading on the go. Also available on the 60 Series is the new TouchSet automatic combine adjustment. Prices range from $168,941 to $239,898.
New Header Platforms. To better use the 60 Series capacity combines, John Deere introduces the 600 Series platforms. The new platforms, John Deere says, are 30% more productive than the 900 series platform. All 600 Series Flex Platforms feature the new HydraFlex float system, which allows the cutter bar to maintain a consistent cutting height regardless of ground conditions. This allows for higher ground speeds compared with conventional, mechanical float systems. HydraFlex comes in 15-, 18-, 20-, 22-, 25-, 30- and 35-ft. widths. Prices range from $17,877 to $31,306.
THREE NEW TRACTORS
Sporting a streamlined look, three new 7020 Series tractors feature a redesigned body styling with a sloping front hood for better forward visibility.
The new series includes the 7720 with a 6.8-liter, 140-hp engine; the 7820 with 8.1-liter, 155-hp engine; and 7920 with 8.1-liter, 170-hp engine.
The 6.8-liter, six-cylinder is Tier II compliant and has a 24-valve head design with injectors located in the center of the cylinder.
The 8.1-liter, six-cylinder features full electronic engine management and a high-pressure common rail fuel delivery system with air-to-air aftercooler.
Several transmission options are available, including the 16-speed PowrQuad Plus, 20-speed PowrQuad Plus, AutoQuad Plus and IVT. Infinitely Variable Transmission (IVT) is an option on the 7720 and 7820 models, and is standard on the 7920. Prices range from $82,256 to $113,160.
